Frag Dolls, Ghost Recon & PAX East
May 10, 9:00 am

GRFS

It’s been four weeks since PAX East closed its doors in Boston. Despite being the redheaded stepchild to PAX Prime, the event has become the little convention that could. I really dig the new convention center and challenge naysayers that this was the best PAX East yet.

Ubisoft had a luxuriously huge booth and it was their biggest presence at a PAX event. The lineup was nothing short of impressive and the Ubisoft booth was certainly a spectacle to behold. I’m not just talking about the free mohawks and tattoos at Far Cry 3. We debuted a new game mode for Ghost Recon Future Soldier.

Valkyrie was leading the charge in this hands-on demo and helping attendees battle waves of enemies in the new Guerilla Mode that takes the standard 4 person wave-based combat multiplayer mode and gives it a unique twist. We had eight stations set up where players worked together to see how far they could get battling wave after wave.

Gunnar provided players with the chance to check out some of their “advanced gaming eyewear” while they played. It was the first time we got to see the new Ghost Recon Future Soldier custom sockets. These custom sockets are sick and a must have for the ultimate Ghost Recon fan.

The Zombie Apocalypse Shuffle
May 01, 9:00 am

Zombie ShuffleZombie Apocalypse Shuffle

This is something I came across on Tumblr. You set your music library to shuffle and the songs that play are the theme songs for the following Zombie Apocalypse scenarios:

1st song is the Overall Apocalypse Theme
2nd song is your First Zombie Kill
3rd song plays while you get Chased by a Horde of Zombies
4th song plays while you are Forced to Kill a Loved One
5th song is the theme for Your Final Stand
6th song plays after You’ve Made it Through!
OH NO! Your 7th song plays when you Discover a Bite Mark

I’ll be honest; it’s hard to be honest. Because you see or know songs that would be stellar in a particular category. To help me stay true to the shuffle I just wrote down the song that came up and skipped to the next one. I have such a weird and very eclectic iTunes library. I had so much fun going through my library on shuffle and imagining myself in a Zombie Apocalypse to the following tunes. Some made me laugh out loud, while others are meh. Here’s what came up.

My Overall Apocalypse Theme Song: Flight of the Conchords - “Think About It”

My First Zombie Kill: Brendan Benson - “Sittin’ Pretty”

When I’m Chased by a Horde of Zombies: What Made Milwaukee Famous - “Idecide”

When I’m Forced to Kill a Loved One: Bush – “Everything Zen”

My Final Stand: The Chemical Brothers - “The Devil Is in the Beats”

I’ve Made it Through!: Eels – “Mental”

I Discover a Bite Mark: Elvis Presley – “I Don’t Care If The Sun Don’t Shine”

I made a little video to illustrate my Zombie Apocalypse.
*WARNING* The video features mature & GRAPHIC VIOLENCE, basically, Zombies being Zombies.

I went through the list again just to see what kind of new results my iTunes shuffle would give me.
Here’s what came up, just for fun:

Overall Apocalypse Theme: Jr Gong - “Welcome to Jamrock”
First Zombie Kill: M.I.A. – “Paper Planes”
Chased by a Horde: OutKast - “Wheelz of Steel”
Forced to Kill a Loved One: Calexico - “Service and Repair”
Final Stand: Bon Jovi – “Blaze of Glory”
Made it Through!: The White Stripes – “Why Can’t You Be Nicer To Me”
Discovered a Bite Mark: NTM – “De personne je ne serai la cible”

I’m Too Sexy For My Shirt
Apr 03, 9:00 am

Articles always pop up on the internet accusing Frag Dolls of being marketing tools hired for their sex appeal. They always say things like:

“Members were selected partially based on their looks, and their site is chock-full of sexy photos”
“They’re just a bunch of models...boothbabes”
“Ubisoft is using the Dolls for the sole purpose of sex appeal”
“…Frag Dolls are using sex to sell more games.”

Models? Sexy? Well this is my response to that:

6890714988_9442b04fa2_o.jpg

I didn’t know I was hired as a sexy model! Whoot whoot, winning! This photo, taken at E3 2 years ago, really epitomizes how sexy Frag Dolls can be. Being sexy has helped me established yet another internal spawn point…I’m pregnant again! ☺

Little Dan6er 6rey is getting a sibling! My husband, Rico Fuerte and I are so excited. This is my second pregnancy as a Frag Doll. Just like last time, I will try and spare you all from too much information and baby talk, but I did want to share a few fun details.

TECHNOLOGY:
These days, the technology we carry around with us every day has brought having babies into the digital age. There truly is an app for everything. Like with baby #1, we used OvuLite to aid in baby #2’s conception, and I’m using a few other apps to follow the baby’s growth and development.

preg app 4   preg app 1   preg app 2   preg app 3

Current Pregnancy Stats (according to my iphone):
I’m in my 2nd Trimester

The baby is 22 weeks 6 days old
The baby is as big as a: Papaya (8 to 10 in, 1.2 lbs)
Weight: 13.9oz 396g
Heart Rate: 146 bpm

Info: This week marks the beginning of some serious weight gain. The baby’s weight in the next four week alone should double. The baby’s nerve endings are developed now and the baby can feel touch. The baby’s sleep cycles are now more regular.

MORNING SICKNESS:
The first trimester is always the hardest, but this pregnancy has been easier than my last in some ways. For example, there aren’t any foods that make me sick or have given me problems this time. However, this pregnancy is not without it’s challenges. I have a toddler to take care of and changing diapers and morning sickness do not mix well. I’ll spare you the details, but I’ve thrown up a lot more this go round.

CANDY:
I have been watching my diet very closely. I have been eating really healthy and depriving myself of stuff that is bad for me. I haven’t had any weird cravings, except the strongest desire EVER to pig out on candy. So much so, that I maybe had the most un-natural reaction to receiving a bag of jelly beans ever.

Rico Fuerte
“I got you something.”

Me
“You did? What? Is it candy!?”

Rico Fuerte
“maybe…”

As he pulls a bag of Jelly Belly’s from their hiding spot in his backpack. He throws the bag to me. I catch it and promptly break down in tears.

Rico Fuerte
“Are you crying? Why? What’s wrong?”

Me
“I’m so happy, I wanted some candy sooo bad.”

It took some hugs and snuggles and a mouth full of Jelly Belly’s, but eventually I was able to calm down.

SPAWN POINT:
We have plans to have the baby in Los Angeles at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Beverly Hills. It’s the same hospital we had Dan6er at and we had a wonderful experience there. It’s a very famous hospital.

Johnny Carson, River Phoenix, Henry Fonda, Lucille Ball, Frank Sinatra, Andy Kaufman, Eazy-E and the Notorious B.I.G. all were declared dead at Cedars-Sinai. Kate Hudson was born there. Julia Robert’s and Nicole Richie delivered babies there and Britney Spears was taken there after a mental meltdown.

“Yep, Cedars-Sinai is known as the birthing center to the stars, not just because of its proximity to Beverly Hills and the Westside, but also because of its celebrity-oriented maternity ward that smells so pleasantly of talc, freshly laundered bunting and well-licked ass.” - Leslie Gornstein EOnline

NAMES:
It’s a boy! Picking the right name is hard. This time we are not telling anyone the name when we pick it. We made that mistake last time and had to deal with an onslaught of disdain for months from family members. We would like to avoid relatives freaking out, so this time they will just have to wait and find out what the baby’s name is when he gets here.

CLOTHES:
Where do I get my maternity Frag Doll shirts? As you might have guessed, my regular Frag Doll shirts don’t fit me when I’m pregnant. We had talked about finding maternity shirts and having our logos printed on them. As luck would have it, a while back our team shirts were mistakenly printed on men’s shirt sizes. I have a few of those shirts, and I have altered them to fit me through the different stages of pregnancy. I’m crafty like that.

When you are pregnant every day can be a struggle to find something to wear that fits. I highly recommend only purchasing maternity clothes as you need them. I see ladies in the stores trying on maternity clothes with those fake bellies strapped on and I think they have no idea what they are in for. Your belly isn’t the only thing to get bigger. EVERYTHING gets bigger. I have been known to go up a whole size in one week.

FULLY LOADED:
We are totally ready for this baby. Because we are having baby #2 so close to the last one, everything we have is still in great shape. We are locked and loaded. The only things we will be buying are diapers. smile

BOOKS:
The Girlfriends Guide To Pregnancy

My favorite book about pregnancy, The Girlfriends Guide To Pregnancy. There are so many aspects to pregnancy that are never discussed publicly.  A large part of this journey is about self-discovery and lots and lots of those, “WHAT THE HECK?! How-come-no-one-talk-about-this-kind-of-stuff!?” moments. This book is hilarious. Vicki Iovine is brilliant and I laughed so hard. Sometimes nothing is funnier than the truth. Pregnancy can be very comical.

QUALITY TIME:
I have been traveling a lot this pregnancy. I live in Colorado now, but my Doctor and my husband are both in Los Angeles. For the last 5 months Rico Fuerte has been in California working on the TV show New Girl. Despite our being in different states, we have had a lot more time together for this pregnancy than with baby #1, due to his forgiving TV schedule and my ability to still travel.

With baby #1 I spent the last 4 months of my pregnancy alone. I couldn’t travel and Rico Fuerte was off in Detroit working on the film I am Number Four and I didn’t see him until a week before the baby was due. I’m hoping not to have to do that again. His TV show is on hiatus now, so we are all together again.

DUE DATE:
The baby is due August 1st. I am just past my halfway point. According to my iPhone, I have 123 days to go, give or take a few. Wow, that is almost to the day from the last time I wrote one of these pregnancy blogs.

I think our team over the years has done a great job representing women who are passionate gamers. I’m living proof that we women can have it all. I love being a gamer almost as much as I love being a mom. I will continue to do my best to represent women who game and rock the black and pink with my big sexy tummy.
