Frag Dolls, Ghost Recon & PAX East
May 10, 09:00 AM

It’s been four weeks since PAX East closed its doors in Boston. Despite being the redheaded stepchild to PAX Prime, the event has become the little convention that could. I really dig the new convention center and challenge naysayers that this was the best PAX East yet. Ubisoft had a luxuriously huge booth and it was their biggest presence at a PAX event. The lineup was nothing short of impressive and the Ubisoft booth was certainly a spectacle to behold. I’m not just talking about the free mohawks and tattoos at Far Cry 3. We debuted a new game mode for Ghost Recon Future Soldier. Valkyrie was leading the charge in this hands-on demo and helping attendees battle waves of enemies in the new Guerilla Mode that takes the standard 4 person wave-based combat multiplayer mode and gives it a unique twist. We had eight stations set up where players worked together to see how far they could get battling wave after wave. Gunnar provided players with the chance to check out some of their “advanced gaming eyewear” while they played. It was the first time we got to see the new Ghost Recon Future Soldier custom sockets. These custom sockets are sick and a must have for the ultimate Ghost Recon fan. This video features an interview with Theo Diea, Ghost Recon Future Soldier’s International Product Manager and some EPIC Ghost Recon Future Soldier gameplay footage. Metadata - Frag …

I LOOK LIKE: A GAMER

Anne-Marie Wilson, also known as Spectra, from the Frag Dolls, has casually played video games off and on since she was a child. But it wasn’t until Halo 2, the creation of Xbox live and her introduction to southpaw controller options that catapulted her into the stratosphere of hardcore gaming. In her relentless pursuit to be the best gamer she can be, Spectra has had to overcome the challenges associated with being a left handed gamer. Learning to play on both default controller settings as well as southpaw, switching back and forth depending on the game and genre. Thus proving, while wearing a “gamer band” and pink fuzzy slippers, she can accomplish anything she sets her heart and mind to.

Gaming is not a hobby for Spectra it is a lifestyle. She spends 30 hours a week engaging in video game related activities. Between the hours spent playing online, hanging out in game forums, writing game reviews, or cutting together videos featuring her latest gaming adventures, it’s a wonder that she finds time for some of her other favorite activities, like skateboarding, making jewelry, sewing and traveling.

Every super hero needs a cover! When Spectra isn’t saving the world one achievement at a time she is working in the film industry. Since 2000, she has been involved, doing a number of different jobs on popular feature films and award winning television shows.

As a Frag Doll, Spectra, would like to raise industry awareness to the needs of the left handed gamer. In hopes, that left-handed controller options would one day become an industry standard for all games. Until then, Spectra will continue to break gamer stereotypes, encourage other southpaw gamers to keep playing and inspire women of all ages to get into gaming. Her passion and enthusiasm for gaming is infectious and becoming a Frag Doll has given her an outlet to share it with the world.
