I’ve been putting all the hours I can find into Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 over the past few days (early Frag Doll copies GETS!) It’s enjoyable, but tough – I’m really out of practice! It’s a whole different kettle of fish to GRAW.
Of course, it’s still early days at the moment, as I’ve only been playing the single player and co-op splitscreen modes. I love the new ability to sprint, as well as the thermal scanning. I can also definitely see how the team and enemy AI has been improved. Of course, my favourite feature has to be playing through the campaign with a friend (one player as Bishop, the other as Knight - oh the chess-related japery!). I’m really glad developers are beginning to put more effort into co-op modes, and hope the trend continues. Just don’t do what I did last night and shoot your team mate in the head ...
Still, with only three days to go until our Frag Dolls Guinness World Record attempt, I need to get my act together! I must become a lean, mean, no-sleeping machine.
Yes, this Saturday we’ll all be at i33 in Berkshire for our “Longest Continuous Play of an FPS” record attempt. We’re aiming for 24 hours – or more! You can also get involved by playing with us on Xbox Live from 10am GMT on Saturday 22nd. Remember, we will be clearing out our friend lists before the event, so don’t add our gamertags until then! You have been warned.
But what I’d really like to talk to you about is sponsoring our record attempt for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. It’s a terrific cause, and every penny you donate will go directly to the charity. In fact if you’re in the UK and select the ”Gift Aid” option, your donation goes even further. It’s great to use gaming as a way to give something back.

Finally, I’d just like to respond to some of the questions I’ve been receiving about our upcoming record attempt. So here goes:
Q: If I join you on Xbox Live, will you sending out room invites, or are people free to join?
A: Both! We will be sending room invites whenever we can, but you are also more than welcome to hop in whenever there is space available.
Q: Will you be hosting rooms, or joining others?
A: Again, both! 24 hours is a long time, and we’d like to mix things up a bit.
Q: Your Xbox Live friend lists are full. HELP!
A: Don’t worry. We will be emptying out our friends list before the event, so you will still have the opportunity to add us. If, due to demand, our lists are STILL full, just keep an eye out for our gamertags (Jam FDUK / Kitt FDUK / Sarin FDUK) on Live.
Q: Can I play with the Dolls throughout your record attempt?
A: Of course! More the merrier. But if you only fancy popping on for five minutes, that’s fine too.
Q: Will you have, er, toilet breaks?
A: Yes, fear not. There will be no weeing into buckets. Guinness thankfully do allow a bit of time out.
