Maybe it’s simply that I can’t reconcile the idea of a game that’s bright and shiny being hard and offering a challenge. While I’m struggling to get first place, reach a star or beat a small monkey at tennis, the catchy happy music and cute cartoon graphics taunt me with notions of simplicity. Is the game implying that a 5 year old could have beaten Bowser hours ago? Did that monkey over the other side of the net just show me the finger? Is this game calling my Mum a skank? There’s something about these games that I’m both attracted to and incredibly enraged by. All that said, I keep going back for more. If you want to experience my rage or indeed provoke it you can add my Mario Kart Wii friend code: 3652-0723-9111. Don’t forget to add your own to our Gaming tags thread in our forum.

I have a blinding headache. I HATE games. I want to throw all my consoles out the window. What happened? I’ve been playing Mario Kart Wii. Why would that make me mad, you ask? I really don’t know. But for some reason I have everything flipped around. Games that should be relaxing jaunts with cute characters infuriate me, whilst complex grown up tactical shooters leave me cool, calm and collected. Why is it I can play Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 for 24 hours without losing my rag, but stick me on a fun karting game like Mario Kart and I start developing a stomach ulcer by the time I reach the end of Rainbow Road? Super Mario Galaxy and Sega Superstars Tennis have also recently given me gaming rage.
