So I’ve been playing Jam Sessions. It’s utterly brilliant. I’m not just saying that. I can’t believe how much fun it is to play. It gives me a real sense of being able to play the guitar but not in a Guitar Hero way. Jam Sessions is really a Guitar simulator more than anything. It’s not a game. Yeah, you can play through songs that are stored within the game and the lines of notes and words will stop till you get each right, but there’s no prize. You won’t get a star or anything because it’s about making sweet, sweet music and that’s all she wrote. I’ve been playing a bit of No Woman, No Cry and Yellow just to find my feet but I’ve decided to try a song that’s not on the list and learn it really well and then… I’m going to video it and post it up here. Now you all know I have no fear of humiliating myself on YouTube. It certainly wouldn’t be the first time, and singing like a banshee (I really do) while badly strumming a DS won’t be my last online humiliation. Gimme some time to practice as I sit on the bus with my headphones on, quietly wailing to myself and then I’ll get it up here. Promise.

A few tips abut Jam Sessions.
There’s a Konami code in there. If you press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right in Free Play mode you will be taken to the song list screen where there will be three new songs to play – Wild Thing, I’m going to Miss Her and Needles and Pins.
If you hold down the chord A6 right till the end you’ll here someone whisper either “Don’t kill us”, “Forgive us” or possibly something in Japanese. If anyone can clarify this please post in the forum blog thread.
Must go. I have a song to practice!
