Dark Tendencies
Oct 20, 1:40 pm

Recently I dabbled in a spot of Paganism.  True, I’ve technically encountered it before, having ventured into the eerie depths of Wiccan churches in Edinburgh’s buried vaults.  They can bring a chill to the spine.

But this time I was unaware at first that I had crossed into this spiritualistic realm. I was simply trying out Imagine Happy Cooking on my DS, innocently finding out about a girl called Lisa.  Lisa was in the fifth grade you know, and quietly pondering how she was going to cook dinner before her father came home. All fairly straight forward, right? However, all of a sudden she was talent-spotted by the light of the moon, and an angel floated down from it. The angel said that she would help Lisa with her problem, by having her meet a TV chef…

‘by the blessing of Virluna heed my call, O light...’

Now things didn’t become any more normal after that. Soon lots of stuffed animals were talking, and I was meeting Lisa’s slightly obsessive ex-boyfriend in the park, and a not-altogether pleasant old man.

However, whilst this strangeness was going on, I was being taught the finer art of making omelettes, how to use a rice cooker, and how to select food from the fridge. Okay, maybe Lisa is a little bit weird, but perhaps I should just lighten up and allow the moon to dictate her life. I shall focus on my ever-improving cooking skills and garnishing techniques instead.

Imagine Happy Cooking is a gentle game that guides you through cooking over fifty dishes, with some cute mini-games and a totally mental story line. Isn’t that what we all really want?
