Like Gaming, Germany and Go Sarin!
When I think of German music I think of Scooter and Rammstein….. now imagine my surprise to be faced with four days of the likes of A-ha and Cher playing in every taxi.
When I think of German food I think of pickled things and sausages, now here at least I was correct. There were many sausages up for grabs at the Leipzig games convention, and no behind the scenes lunch was complete without a pan full of frankfurters and a lot of salami rolls (with bits of gherkin on them of course).

Also to my surprise in Germany, where you are allowed to drive at a billion miles an hour * down the Autobahn, you are not allowed to play any games they deem as too violent, such as Dead Rising. I guess this is why there were only hidden copies waiting backstage for lucky Frag Dolls to snatch up. I was then worried that my copy would be in German, momentarily forgetting the reason why there was no mention of it on the games convention floor. Clearly running about big halls filled with gamers can make you very forgetful.
So what else did I see in my German escapade?? Lots of booth babes, an assortment of good moustaches, many cafes, a lot of graffiti, more flats then houses, and of course many, many computer games, and computer game related stuff. I got to play the new Super Monkey Ball on the Wii, now that was cool. The Wii is a funny thing, the remote is very sensitive and the slightest tilt will set you off, so if you have a tendancy to panic at games, or make sudden movements during them you are going to have problems. I managed to massively over steer, then try and correct myself and just make the situation worse. I’m sure with a little time I will be a Wii pro, but just be warned a gentle tilt goes a long way. Enough of that though as I am not really going to talk much about the Games Convention because, as Jam has already alluded, we are going to show you our tales video style.
So in the mean time I thought I would just let you all know what is happening in the non Frag Doll world of Sarin. I moved house, I am currently attempting to get the internet and phone lines installed, and I am not working. I was supposed to begin my life as a teacher this week but instead my school has been infected with the industrial plague of asbestos. I am currently killing time by trying to think up lesson plans for next week, unpacking my things, and generally hunting about my new home town to find all the coolest things to do. So far I have found Dead Rising in my living room, and that was just about good enough for me!!
