It was about a year ago now that I sat down in my flat and thought ’oh damn, its summer again I really have to get a job!’ I had worked the previous summer in a night club, and although this is great fun, it is tiring. I ended up becoming nocturnal by the end of my three months off! The summer before that I had worked in a supermarket ... never again.
So when I found the Fragdolls application form I thought I had struck gold, but little did I know just how good it could be. Frag Dolls does indeed let me indulge in one of the greatest things in life… egotistical power trips!
You may wonder how, but since the job started in September I have had three main opportunities to throw my weight about… each more fun then the last!
The first power trip comes from being able to mod a forum. Now of course you can’t do this with the idea of it being a power trip, it makes you unfair, biased, and nasty in the end. So I guess the thrill of modding was a short lived one. In all honesty I was lucky really that one of our forumers was nice enough to see the funny side and let me edit his posts on a whim for a little while until I got the need out of my system!
Second up in the power trip times was the GRAW paintballing day. I was excited about the prospect of being able to shoot journalists in the first place, but finding out that I got to be a team leader as well put in the added bonus of being able to shout at them too!! I got to sneak my team extra smoke grenades at the start, so they thought I was a nice leader and were willing to put up with me running about yelling, whilst not actually being all that good at paintballing!
Thirdly we had Battle of the Dolls. Now there was a fun few weeks! This time I got to organise and yell ... hooray! All those practice sessions that I hosted, and then looking after the team in times of change and hardship, it was great. I had my own little virtual Sarin army, ready and willing, all fighting for the common good of winning. Which we didn’t, but that is clearly besides the point.

So to anyone new to the Fragdolls site I urge you to take a look about. You may just be killing some time on a rainy summer’s day, but we’ve done nine months worth of activities, and posted up podcasts, pictures, and a wonderful assortment of crazy blogs.
To all you oldies who I have grown to know and can take my rantings with a pinch of salt, let’s hope there are plenty more activities to come after the summer when the world wide machine of the gaming industry gets churning again.
